Saturday February 11th Top Sports News

NFL:
  • Receiver Hines Ward might not be back with the Steelers next year, reports Jason La Canfora of NFL Network. Sad if this happens as Ward has been with the team so many years and now they might get him out of the team to clear some cap space but what can you do business is business.
  • The new offensive coordinator will be the former Giants quarterback coach, Mike Sullivan reports ESPN's Adam Schefter. Good luck with that.
NBA:

  • Linsanity goes on! The Knicks beat the Lakers Friday night in the packed Madison Square Garden! Jeremy Lin scored 38 points (the highest by any Knick this season) and recorded 7 assists. I have watched the Knicks play against the Lakers a lot of times this last four seasons and they always got the best of the Knicks (with STAT, with whoever you want on the roster) and now without their two superstars, they beat LA. Now you might say that the Lakers have played a lot of games lately and it's catching up to them and this is true but Jeremy Lin proved that he is for real and made me (a  Knicks fan) not want Carmelo Anthony to come back.  LINSANE.
NHL:

  • The Detroit Red Wings win their 19th straight game at home as they edge the Ducks in shootout! By doing so they need one more home win to tie the NHL record. We will see if that happens Sunday night when the Flyers are in town. Also Thomas Holstrom of the Red Wings played in his 1000th game tonight. Congratulations!
MLB:
  •  Mike Napoli and the Texas Rangers agreed to a $9.44 million, one year contract, by doing so they avoided arbitration.
  • Yoennis Cespedes is said to have been offered a deal by the Miami Marlins.
Soccer:
  • Manchester United and Liverpool clash in a Premier League Fixture.
Predicting tonight's games:
  • NBA
  • Clippers over Bobcats
  • Nuggets over Pacers
  • Cleveland over Philly
  • Spurs over Nets
  • Knicks over T'Wolves
  • Trail Blazers over Mavericks
  • Magic over Bucks
  • Kings over Suns
  • NHL
  • Boston over Nashville
  • Florida over Devils
  • Kings over Islanders
  • Rangers over Philly
  • Penguins over Jets
  • Senators over Edmonton

Noteworthy thing of the day:

  • Mario Manningham and Victor Cruz will present a Grammy Award this Sunday! What a week it must have been for the Superbowl champions, especially Cruz who was undrafted and came out of nowhere and is now a hero in New York! Will he salsa sunday like he did in the touchdown below?
