NFL:
  • Matt Leinart is out of Houston as the Texans cut him. He had the chance to stay with the team but then T.J. Yates played well enough to take his post.
  • The New York Giants and cornerback Terrell Thomas, who missed the whole season to a tear ACL, agreed to a deal as he re-signed with the Superbowl Champions.
  • Eric Winston who was cut by the Houston Texans will make visits to the Miami Dolphins, Kansas City Chiefs, St. Louis Rams, Baltimore Ravens and Washington Redskins.
  • Marques Colston of the New Orleans Saints will stay with the team for five more years as both sides agreed to a deal for $40 million.
  • Terrence Newman is out of Dallas as the Cowboys cut him to save $6 million in cap space.
  • Peyton Manning met with new Miami Dolphins coach Joe Philbin in Indianapolis for about five to six hours. Ironic.
  • Defensive end Mario Williams arrived at 6ET at Buffalo yesterday to meet with team officials and discuss a potential deal as they are poised to make him the highest paid defensive player.
  • The Washington Redskins look like early winners in this free-agency as on Tuesday they signed receiver Pierre Garcon, receiver Josh Morgan and receiver Eddie Royal!
  • The Philadelphia Eagles re-signed offensive tackle Todd Herremans to a three year deal.
  • The Beards made two major moves Tuesday. First of all they agreed to a contract extension with Tim Jennings for two years and then they made a very important trade as they got Brandon Marshall from the Dolphins for two 3rd round picks. Bears definitely win this trade as they basically got a Pro Bowler for free.
  • Vincent Jackson's new home is... Tampa Bay! He agreed to a five year deal for $55,555,555 million dollars. So will his jersey number be 5? Those are not the only good news for the Buccaneers as they seem like the favorites to land guard Carl Nicks.
  • Kyle Orton is going to visit the Dallas Cowboys and if he doesn't reach a deal with them he'll probably stay a free-agent.
  • The New York Giants are looking for a tight end as both of them theirs got injured and the favorite seems to be Martellus Bennet, who will visit them.
  • Quarterback Jason Campbell is Chicago bound as he will serve as Jay Cutler's backup.
  • Red Bryant has re-signed with the Seattle Seahawks.
  • In one of the last signings in this crazy day, the St. Louis Rams and Cortland Finnegan agreed to a five year $50 million contract!
  • Reggie Wayne pulled off something very rare these days. He agreed to stay with the Indianapolis Colts for three more years.
NBA:
  • Rajon Rondo is not being traded according to Boston Celtic general manager Danny Ainge.
  • Derrick Rose was fined by the NBA for $25k as he criticized the referees after the Bulls' game against the Knicks.
  • Carmelo Anthony is unhappy with Mike D'Antoni. I am unhappy with him too Melo. But I am more unhappy with you. I never thought I'd say this a year after the trade but the Knicks should trade Melo right now and fire D'Antoni.
  • Dwight Howard seems to be heading the New Jersey Nets during the off-season.
  • The Chicago Bulls are interested in Pau Gasol. If they pull this trade off, will it get them over the top?
  • On the first big trade before the deadline, the Golden State Warriors sent Monta Ellis, Ekpe Udoh and Kwame Brown to the Milwaukee Bucks for Stephen Jackson and Andrew Bogut. Very, very bad trade for the Warriors. Terrible.
