NFL:
- .The New York Jets ruled out themselves from the Peyton Manning sweepstakes as they probably made a horrible move by extending QB Mark Sanchez. What do you think of this move Jets Fans? The J-E-T-S Jets have also tried trading Wayne Hunter.
- The Kansas City Chiefs have offered Peyton Manning a contract. This just proves how some teams desperately want Peyton to join them as the Chiefs have not even watched him throw or anything.
- Peyton Manning reportedly met with the Denver Broncos Friday night and they seem as one of the favorites for his services. Tim Tebow will get outsted by Peyton? I would have never thought that this would happen. So Broncos fans, if you actually get Peyton will you love him if he has a good season or hate him for ending Tebowmania?
- Aaron Rodgers says that Matt Flynn will be a top 15 quarterback and that the team that will sign him will be very happy. I see him going to Miami as they will fail to get Peyton as you'll see him go to Denver or Arizona.
- The League suspended three Broncos players for four games. The players are D.J. Williams, Ryan McBean and Virgil Green.
- The Indianapolis Colts have had trade talks about trading Dwight Freeney. The team also cut Gary Brackett, Dallas Clark, Joseph Addai and Melvin Bullitt. Ok what the heck is the front-office thinking? They are just releasing the whole team right now. If I was a Colt fan i would be very disappointed. This is just ridiculous.
- After seven years with the team, Brandon Jacobs, running back of the Superbowl Champions Giants, was released as the two sides couldn't agree on a new deal as his old one took too much Cap Space.
- After visting Denver, Manning will go to Arizona to visit the Cardinals.
- The Oakland Raiders have cut Chris Johnson as they cleared $3.5 million from their cap space.
- The New Orleans Saints are having one of the worst offseasons as the Bounty scandal appeared, Drew Brees is livid about getting the franchise-tag and now Carl Nicks considers himself gone from the Saints as the team has not made him an offer and he wants more money than they can afford to give him.
- The St. Louis Rams No. 2 first round pick will be going to the... Washington Redskins as they agreed on a deal which will send Washington's No. 6 first round pick this year to the Rams along with their second round pick this year and two more first round picks for the next two years. It's obvious that the 'Skins pulled the trigger on the trade as Manning doesn't seem very likely to come to D.C..
NBA:
- The trade deadline is approaching and one of the trades that will probably go down is the Pau Gasol one. The Houston Rockets look like the leaders in that race.
- The Boston Celtics might trade one of the Big 3 but the team that will trade for one will have to pay. A lot.
- Hedo Turkoglu seems to be heading out of Orlando. In Dwight Howard news, the Magic are not planning on trading him and if they do, they are expecting to get a deal similar to the 'Melo one. I think that the Knicks are the only team who are able to give away their whole team for one player.
- Jason Terry says that it's time for change for the Dallas Mavericks after losses to the Phoenix Suns and Sacramento Kings.
- The Minnesota Timberwolves will have the same General Manager next year too as they will pick up his option.
- Very bad news for T'Wolves fans as Ricky Rubio may have torn his ACL Friday night and if it's true he will probably miss all of the season.
- The Milwaukee Bucks have placed Andrew Bogut on the trading block but he will only be traded if the team trading for him gets Stephen Jackson too.
MLB:
- Another slow news day for the MLB as nothing very importand is going on at Spring Training.
- Joe Maddon, manager of the Tampa Bay Rays, will shave his head and then give the money to charity. Who's next?
- Chris Carpenter left St. Louis Cardinals camp with a neck injury.
- Another pitcher returned from injury and look very good. This time it was Adam Wainwright who came back from Tommy John surgery and he picthed two hitless innings against the Twins.
- A's fans you will see your new star today as Yoennis Cespedes will make his debut.
- Jeff Moorad will not become the Padres' owner as he withdrew his application.
- You never see this happen but the Tampa Bay Rays gave Robert Andino, of the Baltimore Orioles, a standing ovation, in a move thanking him for beating the Red Sox last year to allow the Rays into the playoffs.
- David Robertson of the Yankees suffered a bone bruise after falling from stairs.
NHL:
- Mike Green of the Washington Capitals has been suspended three games for an illegal hit to the head against Tampa Bay's Brett Connolly.
- Sidney Crosby isn't far from a return but it is not sure if he will play against the Boston Bruins on Sunday afternoon.
- Capitals owner is happy that Alex Ovechkin called for the puck and hit an overtime game winner on Thursday night. Not a bad sign but the Capitals have transformed from a threat in the Eastern-Conference to a team which isn't even sure of being in the playoffs and its superstar is having one of his worst seasons. Is it time for a BIG change in the Nation's Capital? Yes.
Soccer:
- In Premier League action Bolton beat Queens Park Rangers 2-1 in a contreversial game as QPR scored a goal from a Joey Barton corner and the ball had clearly passed the goal line but it didn't count and later Bolton would open the score, Q.P.R. tied it and then Ivan Klasnic sealed the win with a goal for Bolton. Aston Villa beat Fulham 1-0 in a very exciting finish as Weimann scored Villa's game winning goal in the 90th minute. Roberto di Matteo got his first EPL win as Chelsea manager as the Blues beat Stoke 1-0 in Stanford Bridge, Drogba ended his scoring drought by scoring the game's only goal. League Cup Champions Liverpool were upset Saturday by Sunderland as Nicklas Bendtner scored a goal in the 56th minute to give Sunderland the 1-0 win. Hoilett scored two goals for Blackburn as they beat Wolverthampton 0-2. (Everton - Tottenham playing right now)
