NFL:
  • Daniel Kaplan of sportsbusinessjournal.com said that amongst the contenders to host Superbowl L are Dallas, Santa Clara, New Orleans and Tampa.
  • Randy Moss is planning on making a comeback to the NFL. Which team will sign him? Make your prediction by posting a comment below.
  • The Philadelphia Eagles will place a Franchise Tag on Wide Receiver DeSean Jackson according to Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer.
  • Brandon Jacobs will replace Jason Pierre Paul in TNA Impact as he will ,instead of him, make an appearance on the professional wrestling show according to Alex Marvez of Fox Sports.
NBA:
  • Carmelo Anthony will return soon, will he play like a team player or the isolation player that misses a lot of shots? We'll see, the Knicks are currently on a 5 game winning streak as Lin is on fire.
  • The Orlando Magic beat the T'Wolves 102-89. Kevin Love had 19 points and 15 rebounds for Minny while six guys were in double figures for the Magic.
  • Floyd Mayweather says that Jeremy Lin is hyped that much because he is Asian. You just lost a fan.
  • Kemba Walker scored three straight three-pointers as the Bobcats attempted to make a comeback but failed as they lost to the 76ers 98-89. The top scorer was Lou Williams with 23 points, Kemba followed with 21.

  • The Dallas Mavericks beat the Los Angeles Clippers 96-92 in the last minute of the game as they were C-L-U-T-C-H. Dirk led the Mavs with 22 points while Caron Butler led the Clippers with 23 points.
  • The Miami Heat did not allow the Milwaukee Bucks to beat them again as they won the game 114-96. Lebron James scored 35 points, while the Bucks were led by the Argentinian Carlos Delfino with 24 points.
NHL:
  • The Carolina Hurricanes stop the Montreal Canadiens game winning streak at four as they beat them 5-3.

  • The Washington Capitals were beaten by the San Jose Sharks 5-3 as Joe Pavelski recorded 2 assists and scored 2 goals.
  • The Phoenix Coyotes and Vancouvers Canucks needed to go to a shootout to decide this game. The Canucks prevailed in the sixth round as Boyd Gordon of the Coyotes missed his penalty shot.
  • The Rangers will meet the Boston Bruins tonight as they look to extend their Eastern-Conference lead to 9 points.
  • The Detroit Red Wings are looking to set a new record for most straight home wins against the Dallas Stars.

  • Yoennis Cespedes has signed a $36 million, four year contract with the... Oakland A's! Take that Miami.
  • Jayson Stark of ESPN.com says that the Roy Oswalt to the Rangers is not happening as they are over the budget so they don't have any money for him. Can this guy decide where he is going to pitch already?
  • According to Buster Olney of ESPN, Vladimir Guerrero wants the Yankees DH spot while the front-runner is still Raul Ibanez. What about Hideki?
  • David Ortiz and the Red Sox avoid arbitration as Ortiz gets a big deal of $14.6 million for a year.
  • Showtime's series "The Franchise" will cover the Miami Marlins this season. Last season it covered the San Francisco Giants.
  • Dmitri Young who apparently is in the best shape of his life as he has lost a lot of weight, worked out for the Pittsburgh Pirates according to Tom Singer of MLB.com
Soccer:
  • In England there were no games but Tevez said that he wants to make a return, he says that he will apologize but also said that Mancini treated him like a dog.
  • In Italy Roma lost the chance to move up a position after their 1-0 loss to Siena and in the other game of the day Napoli beat Chievo 2-0.
  • In Spain Real Sociedad beat Sevilla 2-0 as they moved up and a little far away from the relegation zone but they need to be very careful as almost anyone could get into the relegation zone from the bottom 10 teams in the Spanish Primera Division.
