- Jermaine Lewis the former Ravens player was arrested once again, this time for driving on a suspended license
- More formers players of the NFL continue suing the league over concussions.
- The Lions will likely use their franchise tag on Cliff Avril if they don't agree on a long term deal reports Dave Birkett of Detroit Free Press.
- Baron Davis along with J.R. Smith might play their first games as Knicks players. Lin getting hot was just at the right time for the Knicks as they finally look like a team and the addition of those two players and Melo coming back from injury should help the Knickerbockers a lot.
- It took overtime for the San Antonio Spurs to make their winning streak reach 10 as they beat the Los Angeles Clippers 103-100. Tony Parker had 30 points for the Spurs while the Clippers were led by Blake Griffin who had 22 points.
- The New Jersey Nets upset the Chicago Bull Saturday night as Derrick Rose was once again sidelined. Deron Williams had 29 points for the soon to be Brooklyn Nets while the Bulls were led by Boozer and Mike James who both had 16 points.
- The Grizzlies won in dramatic fashion for the second night in a row and it came again with a tip-in but this time from Tony Allen. Memphis beat the Golden State Warriors 104-103. The duo of Stephen Curry and Monta Ellis exploded as they had 36 and 33 points respectively while Rudy Gay had 19 points to lead the Grizzlies.
- According to Tim Panaccio of CSNPhilly.com the Philadelphia Flyers and Colombus Blue Jackets are discussing a deal for Rick Nash.
- Saturday the Chicago Blackhawks got their second straight win as they thrashed the Blue Jackets 6-1. Colombus scored first in the game (Brassard) and then the Blackhawks scored six goals as Sharp and Toews each recorded 3 points.
- In a very high scoring affair in Philly the Penguins prevailed 6-4 as Cooke's 3 on 5 goal gave Pittsburgh the lead and they never looked back.
- If the Rangers get Rick Nash it is rumored that key part of the deal will be Brandon Dubinsky. Dubinsky said to the Daily News : "I just got to laugh those off, if it happens that's part of the game. It would suck because obviously I love it here, but I am not putting too much stock on it". Well I wouldn't want to go from the #1 team in the NHL to the worst team in the NHL.
- Pavel Kubina of the Tampa Bay Lightning was traded to the Flyers for two draft picks and John Kalinsky.
- Ken Davidoff of Newsday reports that the Yankees will reach a deal with Raul Ibanez after the A.J. Burnett trade gets approved.
- The top free-agents which have not signed with a team are: Roy Oswalt, Jonhy Damon, Javier Vazquez, Derrek Lee and Raul Ibanez. I will have an article up by the end of the coming week on where those players will end up.
- Yankees cut Hideki Okajima as the doctors saw something they didn't like on his left shoulder and to fill the void the Bronx Bombers signed Clay Rapada another LHP.
- Giants ace Matt Cain told Andrew Baggarly of CSNBayarea.com that the team and he are talking on a contract extensions and are both interested on one.
- In the FA Cup Chelsea tied with Birmingham at Stamford Bridge in a game that saw the visiting team take the lead in the 21st minute, followed by a Juan Mata missed penalty-kick two minutes later and Chelsea tying this game in the 62nd minute from a goal that came from Sturridge. The biggest upset was Sunderland knocking Arsenal out of the Cup by beating the 2-0. Wenger's days as Arsenal manager seem numbered as the team has no chance to win the Premier League, lost 4-0 to A.C. Milan for the Champions League and now are out of the FA Cup. The other teams that won and went on to the next round are Everton (vs. Blackpool 2-0), Bolton (@ Millwall 0-2) and Leicester City (@ Norwich City 1-2).
- In Italy Juventus beat Catania 3-1. The visiting team scored first but then Juventus scored three unanswered goals to win this game.
- In Spain, in Primera Division action Getafe and Espanyol tied 1-1, Real Madrid beat Racing Santander 4-0 as Kareem Benzema scored two goals. In the final game of yesterday's action Osasuna lost to Sevilla 2-0.
