NFL:
- Steelers star quarterback Ben Rothlisberger has restructured his contract in a way that creates cap space for Pittsburgh and doesn't reduce money for him according to the Associated Press.
- Rex Ryan says that that saying that his team will reach the Superbowl this year was a "huge mistake" and he also said that he would be interested in adding Peyton Manning.
- The Kansas City Chiefs are interested about getting Peyton Manning says Bob Fescoe of 610 Sports.
- Another team interested in the the Colts quarterback are the Arizona Cardinals if you haven't understood yet every team without a good quarterback in the league wants him. Maybe Dallas should be interested.
NBA:
- Chris Bosh and the Miami Heat were able to cool down Linsanity as they beat the Knicks 102-88 to get their 8th straight win. This Miami team looks like a very solid team and a team that could go for it all. Unfortunately for me because I am a Knicks fan. Linsanity meter: 0 This was not Linsane at all as he had 8 points, 3 assists and 8 turnovers but don't worry he'll get it back together.
- The Atlanta Hawks prevailed over the Orlando Magic Thursday night as they beat the Magic 83-78. J.J. Redick led the Magic with 13 points while Josh Smith's double-double (22 points, 12 rebounds) led the Hawks to a win.
- Tomorrow the All-Star weekend starts with the Shaq vs. Chuck game.
- Chicago Blackhawks superstar Jonathan Toews was involved in a car accident and left from the scene in an ambulance.
- The Colombus Blue Jackets and Los Angeles Kings agreed on a trade that will send Jeff Carter to LA for Jack Johnson and a firs-round pick.
- As I predicted yesterday the Vancouver Canucks ended the Detroit Red Wings' 23 home games winning streak as they beat them in a shootout. Detroit hadn't lost at home since November 3rd!!
MLB:
- Rejoice Brew Crew! Ryan Braun who appealed his 50 game suspension has been found innocent and is cleared to play again! He should soon be at the Milwaukee Brewers' camp. Good choice as Braun said from the start that he was innocent and all signs pointed to that direction.
- Russel Martin and the New York Yankees are talking about a long-term deal.
- Yadier Molina and the St. Louis Cardinals are also discussing a deal as the catcher will be a free-agent after this year. Don't lose Molina too St. Louis.
- Roy Oswalt looks to "pull a Roger Clemens" as he is considering returning in mid-season. During this offseason he turned down the Tigers and the other teams that have shown the most interest are the Cardinals, Rangers and Reds. Two of those teams have complete rotations so that is not possible but it looks that those were his favorite options.
Soccer:
- The Europa League's Round of 32 action closed today as the match-ups for the round of 16 are the following: Standart Liege - Hannover, Valencia - PSV Eindhoven, Alkmaar - Udinese, Olympiakos - Metalist, Sporting Lisbon - Manchester City (more coming)
